Job Summary:

The Reception and Treatment Center is accepting applications for the position of Canteen Operator. Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked.

• Operates the inmate canteen to include requisition of supplies, maintaining inventory control, processing related paperwork, processing inmate special orders and answering inmate correspondence.
• Assigns and directs the work activities of inmate workers.
• Serves, supervises and trains inmate workers in canteen principles, policies and procedures.
• Manages small supply room, receives deliveries.
• Orders inmate clothing and controls inventory.

• Minimum:
  At least 18 years of age and have either a high school education or experience working in a retail setting.
• Preferred:
  Experience working in a canteen, retail grocery or similar setting; experience operating computer and calculator; bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired and assessed.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
• Applicants must pass medical exam, drug test (at a randomly announced time) and successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program at Staff Training Academy.
