Compensation and Sponsorship

Starting salary: $74,000 plus exam raises.

Work‑visa sponsorship is available, covering Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F‑1 Visa programs.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid program offering flexibility to work 2–3 days in the office. Locations are chosen to include in‑office collaboration and will be confirmed closer to the start date.

Program Detail

The Actuarial Development Program is a full‑time, dynamic, 4½‑year (minimum) training program designed to develop future leaders in actuarial science. Participants gain exposure to key business areas and support actuarial students in exam preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment
    :
    Understand specific risks and share analysis results with management.
  • Rate Filing
    :
    Compile and analyze filing data, prepare and submit regulatory exhibits.
  • Reserve Analysis
    :
    Monitor reserve levels through claim data, demonstrating knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques.
  • Planning & Forecasting
    :
    Provide technical support for planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Pricing, Trend & Benefit Design
    :
    Develop and recommend pricing and trend changes for products or services.
  • Technical Proficiency
    :
    Create solutions using spreadsheets, databases, and web‑based applications; develop tools and models; finalize business requirements and specifications.
Required Qualifications
  • Meet educational requirements (see education section).
  • Willingness to relocate to one of the actuarial hubs (Hartford, CT; Blue Bell, PA; Atlanta, GA; or Chicago, IL).
  • Pass one actuarial exam by 31

    August
    2026 (for June
    2027 hires) or by 31

    August
    2026 (for January
    2027 hires).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or work experience supporting actuarial functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., student organizations, sports teams).
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Experience with analytical or coding software (SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑resolution skills.
  • Encourages teamwork and a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Resourceful and adaptable to change.
Education

Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, or other related degrees are acceptable.

Hours and Pay

Weekly hours: 40. The typical pay range for this role is $61,800.00 – $, with the actual offer depending on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
