Silver Star Construction is an employee‑owned company seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our team for projects in various locations throughout the OKC Metro and surrounding areas.

Job Duties / Essential Functions
  • Ensure safety and quality are the 1st priority on every project.
  • Act as the first point of contact, 24/7, for any safety or emergency issues.
  • Immediately report any suspected drug, alcohol, or intoxication to the Safety Director.
  • This position is identified as a "safety sensitive position" due to being around heavy equipment and street / highway construction projects.
  • Keep all projects on budget and on time.
  • Work together with the estimator to determine the cost and process change orders.
  • Help the superintendents and the safety department do a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for each project prior to crews starting work.
  • Coordinate with the superintendents, equipment and trucking dispatchers, the safety department, the shop foreman, all testing labs, the asphalt plant, and all suppliers.
  • Serve as the first point of contact with all project owners, developers, general contractors, and job site foreman to coordinate all activities and communications for all projects/jobs.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications; confer with the Vice President of Operations to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Monitor and control all material deliveries and ensure they comply with the project budget.
  • Monitor and control all quality‑control testing and ensure it complies with the project specifications.
  • Control project through administrative direction of the Vice President of Operations to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Work with the contract administrator (President / VP of Ops) to manage financial aspects of contracts, protecting the company’s interests while maintaining a good relationship with the customer.
  • Make requisitions for supplies and materials to complete the project.
  • Initiate and obtain necessary permits and coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Formulate reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.
  • Attend project handoff meetings, secure bid specifications and drawings from the estimating team, and ensure everything required to keep the project on time and on budget is in place (PROJECT HANDOFF).
  • Maintain quality and cost controls on each project while ensuring customer satisfaction by exceeding client needs.
  • Continuously evaluate potential safety situations and confer with the Safety Director on corrective measures.
  • Evaluate customer contracts to ensure they match the scope of work bid and reflect the specifications used during the bidding process.
  • Review all subcontractor contracts and purchase orders, ensuring they are completed and filed before any work or material orders.
  • Ensure all subcontractors have contracts and insurance in place.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and distribute project information to the Vice President of Operations (plans, material, quantities, equipment, and labor hours).
  • Solicit and maintain communication with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure that subcontractors are aware of and commit to the project schedule.
Requirements
  • Driving record of 5 points or less.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30 (preferred), CPR certified, and First Aid.
  • High school diploma or GED with equivalent experience; a college degree is preferred.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (cell phone, email, computer, iPad, etc.).
  • Leadership skills.
