We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Mill Machine Operator to join our paving team. In this role, you will operate cold milling equipment to remove existing asphalt surfaces and prepare roadways for resurfacing. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:- Operate milling machine to remove asphalt surfaces according to project specifications.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues to the Foreman.
- Set up and prepare job sites for milling and paving operations.
- Assist with transporting tools and equipment to and from job sites.
- Work closely with crew members to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of milling operations, paving processes, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret basic plans, grades, and job specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ years of experience operating milling machines preferred.
- Paving or heavy/highway construction experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel and work out of town when required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and boots.
Travel within Oklahoma and North Texas is required.
