Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Associate Dean and the Humanities Dept. Chair, the Adjunct Instructor is responsible for instructing students in various courses, including Beginning German I and II, Second Year German I and II and Accelerated Second Year German. The instructor is responsible for creating course‑content related materials designed to achieve identified course objectives and outcomes, utilizing various teaching strategies – including Engaged Learning practices, and monitoring and evaluating student progress, maintaining accurate student records using the required LMS grade book, communicating with students, etc.
Teaching formats may include one or all of the following: face‑to‑face, hybrid, online and/or distance‑learning.
- Instruct courses:
Beginning German I and II, Second Year German I and II, Accelerated Second Year German. - Create course materials to meet objectives and outcomes.
- Utilize teaching strategies, including Engaged Learning practices.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate records via LMS grade book.
- Communicate with students as needed.
- Teach in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and/or distance‑learning formats.
Skills and Abilities
- Master’s Degree in German or a related field, with at least 18 graduate hours in German.
- Teaching experience equivalent to at least 18 semester hours, or 6 courses/sections, at the secondary or post‑secondary level directly relevant to instructional responsibilities.
- Experience teaching online and/or hybrid formats.
- Experience using fiber or Life Size technology to teach remotely.
- Familiarity with Engaged Learning practices.
- Graduate coursework directly related to courses that will be taught.
Salary: TBD. Benefits:

This is a part‑time temporary position with assignments based on program needs.
