Job Summary
The Nebraska Career and Technical Education team is seeking a Skilled and Technical Sciences Career Field Specialist and Skills
USA Adviser to provide statewide programmatic leadership, consultative services, and technical assistance to Nebraska schools, Educational Service Units (ESUs), teacher preparation institutions, and other educational entities related to Skilled and Technical Sciences.
84th & O St, Lincoln, NE
PayGrade 9: $69,746.51 per year (increases to $70,618.34 per year on June 29, 2026). This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.
Core Responsibilities- Serves as State Advisor for Skills
USA and state liaison between the Nebraska Department of Education, the Nebraska Skills
USA Association, and the Nebraska Skills
USA Board of Directors. - Coordinates resources, activities, events, and state and national conferences for Nebraska Skills
USA, and provides training for the Skills
USA State Officer team. - Collaborates to recruit and develop new Skills
USA chapters throughout Nebraska. - Provides guidance and technical assistance on selecting and implementing high quality, standards‑aligned instructional resources and develops quality assurance processes.
- Assists with development and delivery of professional development related to Skilled and Technical Sciences.
- Conducts desk audits and on‑site visits to monitor state and federal grant recipients and provide technical assistance related to the development and implementation of grants.
- Reviews and approves applications, amendments, and reports.
- Establishes and fosters strategic partnerships among state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to achieve goals of Nebraska Career & Technical Education.
- Maintains regular attendance, possesses a valid driver’s license, and travels independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the field of education or related subject area, two years of successful pre‑K‑12 teaching or school administration experience in an approved or accredited Nebraska school, or equivalent teaching or school administration experience in another state or country, and eligible for a current Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate.
- Meeting the requirement that a Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate is possessed by the time of employment and maintained while in the position.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent Master of Arts in Teaching, four years of teaching or school administration experience in an approved or accredited Nebraska school or equivalent experience in another state or country, and eligible for a current Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate.
- Experience as an instructor in Skilled and Technical Sciences, advising Skills
USA, working with state and federal grants, and writing and aligning standards to local curriculum.
