Position Overview

The Literacy Professional Learning and Compliance Specialist supports statewide literacy initiatives by coordinating registration, scheduling, communication, stipend and micro-credential management, and maintaining records for reporting and compliance. The Specialist reviews Strong Readers submissions, oversees documentation for the first-grade at-home reading program, and manages data for HEROES Literacy Instructional Team initiatives. This role also monitors field reports and provides logistical and administrative support to literacy field staff, including travel claims and rentals.

This role requires a consistent in-person presence in Oklahoma City and does not offer remote options.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (official transcripts required upon hire)
  • Two years of experience supporting literacy programs, educator training, school-based literacy work, or PK–12 instructional support
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating professional development for an organization
  • Experience managing a budget; familiarity with Strong Readers
  • Completion of training in the science of reading
Special Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
  • Valid driver’s license to travel as required

  • Learning Coordination:
    Coordinate registration, scheduling, communication, and participant support for statewide literacy professional learning opportunities funded through state literacy initiatives, including LETRS, statewide screener training, OEQA academies, and other OSDE-sponsored literacy programs.
  • Stipend Management:
    Manage stipends and micro-credentials, including documentation collection, participant verification, tracking, and payment coordination.
  • Records Maintenance:
    Maintain statewide records of literacy professional learning participation and completion data for reporting and compliance.
