Overview

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real‑world skills. Students complete their academic work in two hours a day using self‑directed, AI‑driven applications. There are no teachers, no lectures, and no classroom‑based instruction. The role focuses on high‑intensity workshops, data‑driven motivation, and coaching the Guides who support students.

A typical day begins with a one‑on‑one coaching conversation with a Guide, proceeds to a student workshop, and ends with direct motivation work for individual students. You manage your own cohort while coaching other Guides.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour workshops on public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange for K‑8 cohorts, delivering Alpha’s established playbook with precision.
  • Conducting motivation interventions informed by student data and Alpha’s incentive architecture (campus currency, performance leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal completion across your cohort.
  • Coaching Guides on program adherence and standards execution to ensure concrete improvement steps in every coaching interaction.
  • Managing your own student cohort while developing other Guides.
  • Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal attainment rates, and Guide performance indicators weekly to identify declining performance early.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Teaching or tutoring academic content; students progress through self‑directed applications without direct adult instruction.
  • Creating curriculum or developing original lesson materials; success is measured by execution fidelity, not creative reinvention.
  • Coaching Guides on instructional pedagogy; your coaching focuses on energy management, motivational techniques, and accountability frameworks.
  • Accepting 99% performance when 100% is the standard; maintaining high expectations demonstrates belief in student capability.
  • Serving as the campus emotional support figure; students receive genuine connection accompanied by honest feedback and meaningful consequences.
Program Director

Key Responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha’s three core commitments to every student in your cohort: develop a love for school, accelerate learning at twice the rate of traditional classrooms, and build meaningful life competencies.

Basic Requirements
  • Available to work on‑site at one of the listed locations; relocation assistance is available.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or a comparable domain.
  • Demonstrated history of managing a team of 5 or more adults, including hiring and performance‑based dismissal decisions.
  • Hands‑on experience working with children aged 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts.
  • Created, launched, or substantially scaled a program, team, business, school, or initiative from inception.
  • Documented experience using data and metrics to establish weekly objectives and inform decisions beyond passive reporting.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience coaching sports, directing experiential or outdoor programs, managing camps, or leading youth ministry at a scale requiring cohort management and outcome measurement.
  • Transitioned from classroom instruction to program leadership in adjacent sectors such as EdTech ventures, tutoring organizations, youth‑focused nonprofits, or school intervention systems.
  • Strong early‑career performance record — academically, athletically, or professionally — prior to entering leadership roles.
  • Conviction that conventional education models are fundamentally flawed and a personal commitment to systemic redesign.
