Plant Controller

Location: 90% remote (on-site a few times a month)

Duration: Contract

Compensation: $75-85/hour

We are partnering with a publicly traded manufacturing organization seeking a Plant Controller (Floater) to support multiple plant locations and operational finance initiatives across the business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments, can quickly adapt to changing priorities, and enjoys partnering closely with both operations and corporate accounting teams.

• Support plant accounting and finance functions across multiple manufacturing locations
• Assist with month‑end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze manufacturing variances, costing, and operational performance metrics
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance initiatives
• Partner closely with plant leadership, operations teams, and corporate accounting
• Assist with fixed assets, inventory‑related reporting, and financial controls
• Provide support on process improvements, reporting enhancements, and special projects
• Work within ERP systems to support reporting accuracy and operational visibility
• Deliver concise financial insights and recommendations to leadership teams

• Strong manufacturing accounting and/or plant finance experience
• Experience supporting operational finance within manufacturing environments
• Background in costing, month‑end close, operational reporting, and financial analysis
• ERP experience required; SAP experience strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly and support multiple business locations and teams
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Experience working with both plant operations and corporate accounting teams
• Chemical manufacturing experience preferred
• Comfortable operating independently in a fast‑paced environment

The ideal candidate is hands‑on, adaptable, and capable of stepping into different plant environments with minimal ramp‑up time. This person should be comfortable partnering directly with operations leadership while also supporting corporate accounting initiatives. Strong communication skills, operational finance experience, and the ability to navigate fast‑moving manufacturing environments are critical for success in this role.
