MORTGAGE SALES MANAGER
The Sales Manager is responsible for generating mortgage loans based on the same criteria as Mortgage Loan Consultants (MLC), and recruiting, training, and managing assigned Mortgage Loan Consultants based in production centers. This position is directly responsible for loan origination objectives and leadership strategies that will expand market share.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Recruiting and retaining Mortgage Loan Consultants and business volumes.
- Ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures of all sales employees under supervision.
- Managing the professionalism and quality of customer service and teamwork performed by assigned employees.
- Maintaining individual loan officer production levels to company standards.
- Assisting, training, and managing Mortgage Loan Consultants in cross‑selling of bank products.
- Ensuring overall quality of loan submissions.
- Driving growth of sales team, branch, and/or region.
- Conducting daily/weekly review of actual team performance against team plans and including actions to improve service quality.
- Participating in assigned production meetings and proactively correcting deficiencies.
- Designing, implementing, and overseeing a business development strategy consistent with First United Bank policies, objectives, and regulatory guidelines to manage and consistently improve the mortgage lending sales force.
- Providing leadership through recognition, coaching, and team building.
- Assessing the home financing needs of the branch communities and designing marketing efforts to reach all demographic market segments within the communities.
- Performing other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.
- Completing all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Adhering to all First United policies and procedures.
- Dressing professionally.
- Recommending possible methods to improve the department to supervisor.
- Education and
Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED); preferential 10 years experience in mortgage lending; at least one year of management experience; proven record of success in generating sales in a mortgage lending environment. - Technical/Functional
Competencies:
Possession of strong organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and accept direction; demonstrated technical knowledge of bank, mortgage, federal and state lending and compliance/regulatory matters. - NOTE:
