Lead Financial Reporting Analyst – Lincoln, NE – Ameritas
Ameritas is seeking an experienced Lead Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team, specializing in fixed income and mortgage assets. This role is critical in ensuring accurate statutory accounting and financial reporting for our investment portfolio, supporting our mutual-based organization’s commitment to putting customers first.
Hybrid work: partially in‑office (Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.
Key Responsibilities- Lead statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting for fixed income, including bonds and mortgage loans.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with standards, filing requirements, and state insurance regulations while maintaining and updating documentation for investment holdings.
- Execute internal controls over financial reporting to support risk mitigation efforts.
- Mentor team members and provide guidance on financial reporting practices, problem‑solving strategies, and process improvements.
- Lead process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and documenting enhanced workflows.
- Participate in projects and system implementations for proper planning, execution, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Minimum of 3–4 years related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience in statutory accounting within the life insurance industry preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in fixed income securities, fixed income accounting, and investment reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with the NAIC Accounting Practices and Procedures manual, and investment accounting.
- Experience with Oracle Smart View for ad‑hoc reporting, data validation, and financial analysis preferred.
- Experience with PAM for Investments (PFI) accounting system and/or Precision LM (PLM) mortgage loan system, or similar investment accounting platforms, strongly preferred.
