Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Financial Analyst supports the Comptroller in administering and monitoring agency financial activities in compliance with state laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position performs advanced professional financial and budgetary analysis to support operational effectiveness, resource stewardship, strategic planning, and agency decision‑making. The role oversees staff responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel processing, and related fiscal functions. The Financial Analyst ensures proper management of carryover funding, prepares financial reports and reconciliations, and assists with year‑end closing activities, audit responses, and special financial projects to ensure accurate, transparent, and compliant financial operations.
Please note: This role requires a consistent, in-person presence at the designated workplace in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and does not offer remote, telecommuting, or hybrid options.

- Financial Operations:
Assist the Comptroller in administering financial operations, including budget development, financial reporting, cash management, and fiscal oversight in accordance with state statutes and agency policy. - Staff Supervision:
Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Travel staff by assigning work, monitoring performance, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and supporting training and development. - Carryover Management:
Manage and monitor carryover funds to ensure accurate accounting, allocation, utilization, and reporting aligned with legislative and agency requirements. - Data Analysis:
Analyze financial data, expenditures, revenues, and budget trends to support forecasting, strategic planning, and executive-level decision-making. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare, review, and reconcile financial reports, budget schedules, and supporting documentation for internal leadership, oversight agencies, and external auditors. - Advanced Analysis:
Conduct advanced financial and budgetary analysis to inform operational decisions and support agency program functions. - Year-End
Activities:
Assist with year-end closing, including budget carry forward calculations, reconciliation processes, audit response preparation, and special financial projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field [official transcripts required upon hire];
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analyst or fiscal operations;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future;
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license from a U.S. state or territory to perform necessary job-related travel.
- Less than 10% in-state/out-of-state travel may be required.
