Speech Language Pathologist - Clinical Fellow Experienced supervision on site.

Description

Performs professional Speech Language Pathology activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual, feeding, and group treatment activities in a collaborative child- and family-centered service delivery model.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret a physician’s referral and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures.
  • Evaluate patients in the relevant Speech Language Pathology domains, including fluency, speech production, language, cognition, voice, resonance, feeding and swallowing, and auditory habilitation/rehabilitation.
  • Interpret child and family concerns as well as data collected through standardized assessment and skilled observation, and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment.
  • Inform patient and family goals and progress.
  • Maintain a full-time caseload that may include children and families receiving services through insurance, school-based services, consultation, or private pay models of service delivery.
  • May supervise Clinical Fellow(s).
  • May supervise students.
Skills, Qualifications, and Certifications/Licensure Requirements
  • Current license from OBESPA as a Speech Language Pathologist OR eligible for licensure after completion of Clinical Fellowship. License must be obtained within 30 days of completing Clinical Fellowship.
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Professional writing skills that include the ability to reflect medical necessity in documentation and communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team as well as other stakeholders in a child’s plan of care.
  • Time management skills necessary to meet clinic requirements for clinician efficiency as well as documentation and billing time frames.
