Speech Language Pathologist - Clinical Fellow Experienced supervision on site.
DescriptionPerforms professional Speech Language Pathology activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual, feeding, and group treatment activities in a collaborative child- and family-centered service delivery model.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Interpret a physician’s referral and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures.
- Evaluate patients in the relevant Speech Language Pathology domains, including fluency, speech production, language, cognition, voice, resonance, feeding and swallowing, and auditory habilitation/rehabilitation.
- Interpret child and family concerns as well as data collected through standardized assessment and skilled observation, and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment.
- Inform patient and family goals and progress.
- Maintain a full-time caseload that may include children and families receiving services through insurance, school-based services, consultation, or private pay models of service delivery.
- May supervise Clinical Fellow(s).
- May supervise students.
- Current license from OBESPA as a Speech Language Pathologist OR eligible for licensure after completion of Clinical Fellowship. License must be obtained within 30 days of completing Clinical Fellowship.
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Professional writing skills that include the ability to reflect medical necessity in documentation and communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team as well as other stakeholders in a child’s plan of care.
- Time management skills necessary to meet clinic requirements for clinician efficiency as well as documentation and billing time frames.
