Food Safety Specialist

Position pays $18-$24 per hour.

• Conduct assessments that measure conformity to regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards for hotel, restaurant, and grocery clients.
• Observe food preparation and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices.
• Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective action plans.
• Teach and coach clients on creating safer and healthier workplace environments for staff and customers.
• Travel 50%–70% (or 8–10 days per month), including some evening and weekend work.
• Conduct audits and inspections.
• Implement and monitor food safety training and education.
• Investigate food safety incidents.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain documentation and records.
• Influence others with tact and skill, provide clear constructive feedback in a positive manner.
• Thrive in an autonomous working environment, organizing and prioritizing work based on urgency, efficiency, and other factors.

• Strong technical knowledge of food safety (preferred).
• Ability to influence others, provide constructive feedback, and work autonomously.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, Serv Safe and/or CP‑FS certification preferred (certificate(s) a plus).
• Excellent listening, organization, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Meet the requirements to obtain a CP‑FS certification.
