Emergency Service Specialist III - Marietta

Overview

Responds to life safety emergencies, providing rescue, pre‑hospital medical care, fire prevention, protection, and suppression. Provides pre‑hospital care in accordance with State Department of Health EMS Regulations and department protocols.

Completion of fire training.

• EMT‑Paramedic license in the state of practice.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record that is insurable.

• None.

• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as Paramedic.
• PR certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

• Must be physically fit and able to pass medical exam and physical ability test.
• Radio communication skills essential.
• Must be able to interact with outside agencies such as law enforcement and receiving hospitals.
• Must be able to operate emergency vehicles safely.
• Maintain currency in Emergency Vehicle Operators Course.
• Must be able to interact effectively with all public and/or corporate businesses and their management and staff in a positive manner that respects their organization yet projects Mercy Standards.

• Some college hours preferred.
• Formal fire training preferred.

• None.

• One year EMS experience preferred, either as Basic or higher.

• Certification by some fire agency preferred.

• Mechanical engineering skills preferred.
• Auto repair and maintenance preferred.
• Advanced rescue training preferred.
