Inpatient Coding Auditor

Required Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of hospital/facility-based Inpatient Coding experience, including:
• Principal Diagnosis selection
• DRG assignment
• Secondary diagnosis coding
• Procedure coding using ICD-10-PCS
• Inpatient account coding and DRG assignment across Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, Orthopedic, and General/Oncology Surgery
• Minimum 1 year of hospital-based Inpatient Coding Auditing/DRG Validation experience, including:
• Validation of Principal Diagnosis and Principal Procedure
• Accuracy and quality review of diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes
• Validation of account abstraction

Additional Requirements:

• This is an Inpatient Coding position. Candidates must have extensive acute-care inpatient and trauma coding experience.
• Academic Medical Center and Trauma Center experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates must complete pre-employment Inpatient Coding and Auditing assessments before the interview.
• Outpatient Facility Coding or Professional Coding for Inpatient Admissions does not qualify as a substitute for inpatient coding experience.
