Position: Underwriting Leadership Development Program (Conversion)

At CVS Health® we invite you to participate in the Underwriting Leadership Development Program (ULDP). The program is a 54‑month rotational experience designed to develop agile, growth‑minded talent into future underwriting leaders.

Program Details

Projected Program

Start Date:

June – July 2027 (exact date to be finalized). Primary

Location:

Hartford, CT. Work Arrangement: 3 days in office per week with hybrid option. Sponsorship:
No work visa sponsorship available.

Compensation:
Starting salary of $31.73 per hour. Pay range: $21.10 – $44.99 per hour, depending on experience, education, geography and other factors.

Responsibilities

As a participant, you will:

  • Evaluate risk and develop pricing strategies across underwriting segments.
  • Support profitable growth and influence key business decisions.
  • Conduct financial analysis and business insights to drive underwriting performance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners in Sales, Actuarial, Product, and other areas.
  • Participate in executive visibility, mentorship and committee work.
Rotations

Participants will rotate through three 18‑month assignments, including:

  • Commercial Underwriting
  • Government Underwriting
  • International Underwriting
  • Dental, Vision Underwriting
  • Pharmacy Underwriting
  • National Accounts Public & Labor
  • Voluntary Benefits
  • Other risk management areas
Development Opportunities
  • Process improvement and operational efficiency projects
  • Underwriting innovation and automation initiatives
  • Data analysis and business insights projects
  • Cross‑functional business projects across Sales, Account Management, Actuarial, Product, and other areas
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and early talent engagement initiatives
  • Intern and extern program support activities
  • Networking, community service, and culture‑building initiatives
  • Strategic projects supporting underwriting and enterprise priorities
Compensation & Benefits

This full‑time position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs and additional resources.

Post‑program placement is typically in a Manager (Level 109) role within our Commercial Underwriting organization.
