Prepared Food Lead

Position Summary

As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to our members—giving them more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

Be a Team Leader: Supervise the team within all prepared foods departments, facilitating rotations through different fresh areas and managing members’ needs to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of your club by communicating the goals of the department, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and advocating for the member, the associate and the company.

Be an Expert: Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of business on the floor and backroom operations by ensuring the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety and compliance. Manage seasonality in terms of production, understanding new products, recipes, processes and production specifications, prioritizing time between areas.

Collaborate with associates and third parties to ensure the team has resources to do their job effectively, sharing knowledge and training the team.

Leverage digital tools:
Use handheld technology to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience and elevate associate engagement, adopt new tools and encourage others to use them.

Drive ownership:
Commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a neat, clean and safe work area, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and accurate audit and compliance standards, producing and displaying merchandise, engaging with other departments and third‑party business partners to ensure operational continuity.

Be a Talent Ambassador:
Teach and train the team, identify training needs, provide and develop necessary skills, encourage career growth, source talent internally and externally.

Develop processes:
Communicate and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers and other partners, analyzing information from multiple sources, monitoring progress, results and identifying improvement opportunities.

Demonstrate, promote and support compliance with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity; assist management with correcting ethical and compliance issues; lead and participate in teams using shared resources.
