Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping our plant running smoothly, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast‑paced food processing environment. As a jack‑of‑all‑trades, you will use expertise in electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, and fabrication to solve complex issues and keep production on track.
Responsibilities- Efficient Work Order & Emergency Response – review work orders, use SAP to create them, determine tools, parts and manpower needed, and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Hands‑On Maintenance & Equipment Repair – monitor machinery while operating, disassemble and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, replace faulty parts, fabricate replacement parts with welding and sheet‑metal work, and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, packaging, slicing equipment, etc.
- Installation & System Maintenance – install and maintain mechanical equipment, piping, electrical controls, and utilities (electrical, water, gas, drain lines) to keep operations running at full capacity.
- Technical Skills & Problem‑Solving – utilize hand tools and devices, adhere to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, and support all plant systems.
- Safety First – follow lockout/tagout procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and all company safety protocols.
- High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience, 4 years of direct experience in mechanical maintenance, or a vocational diploma/associate degree in a technical maintenance field.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of personnel and contractors.
- Capability to operate forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and interpret equipment manuals.
- Hourly maintenance pay of $25.60‑$32.75 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential for third shift.
