Position: Director of Nursing (DON) – Leadership Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) who is more than a manager — we are looking for a true leader. This role is for someone who leads by example, builds up their team, holds high standards, and takes ownership of the nursing department. The right candidate will create a culture of accountability, respect, and excellence while ensuring outstanding care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all nursing operations within the facility
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and survey‑ready documentation at all times
  • Supervise, train, and mentor nursing staff (LPNs, CMAs, CNAs)
  • Conduct audits on charts, physician orders, care plans, and assessments
  • Ensure proper medication management and clinical oversight
  • Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and resident care
  • Address performance issues promptly and appropriately
  • Coordinate with administration on staffing, quality improvement, and operations
Qualifications
  • Current LPN or RN license (state required)
  • Previous experience in assisted living, long‑term care, or memory care
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of state regulations and survey process
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to hold staff accountable while maintaining a supportive culture
