- This is a full‑time shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in duration. Rotating schedule: 6:30 pm – 7:00 am.
- Annual salary: $50,500.00 – $60,000.00 plus holiday, shift differential and benefits.
- The FLSA status is non‑exempt for this position.
We are currently looking for talented Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Adult Inpatient Nursing department. The position is assigned responsibilities for providing direct or indirect professional nursing services in a variety of settings. This includes nursing assessments, planning, interventions, evaluations, health‑related education, case management, and execution of the medical regime including administering medications and treatments prescribed by authorized prescribers by state law.
ResponsibilitiesInclude
- Providing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a hospital under the supervision or direction of registered nurses or licensed physicians.
- Offering health care to patients experiencing severe emotional disorder(s)/psychiatric illness or substance abuse.
- Performing crisis intervention and working collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and other nurses.
- Preparing medication and distributing it on the unit.
- LPN III:
Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing plus two years of practical nursing experience; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus two years of practical nursing experience. - LPN II:
Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and one year of practical nursing experience; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus one year of practical nursing experience. - LPN I:
Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). - Possesses a strong commitment to patient well‑being and safety and believes that recovery is possible.
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants must submit to a physical examination and must meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and being able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job‑related travel normally associated with this position and must have a valid driver’s license.

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. GMH is a 120‑bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and providing in‑patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
Drugand Alcohol Pre‑Employment and Preplacement Testing
Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety‑sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety‑sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
Work Hours and LocationThis agency requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
