Regulatory Sciences Research Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented Research Associate to support the Regulatory Sciences team by performing PCR-based molecular analyses for regulatory biosafety studies. This role is responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, maintaining Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliance, documenting study data, supporting regulatory research activities, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of laboratory operations. The ideal candidate has experience with molecular biology techniques, PCR workflows, and laboratory documentation.

• Perform PCR molecular analyses, including DNA extraction, sample weighing, reagent preparation, genomic control generation, master mix preparation, and PCR plate setup.
• Support regulatory biosafety studies by executing laboratory procedures according to approved protocols.
• Develop, adapt, and troubleshoot molecular biology methods to address laboratory and regulatory requirements.
• Document experimental procedures, protocols, methods, and results in accordance with regulatory and GLP requirements.
• Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize study data for regulatory submissions.
• Maintain laboratory records, documentation, and record management practices in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Participate in laboratory experiments designed to support regulatory trait package preparation.
• Evaluate PCR-related technical issues and collaborate with laboratory personnel to develop and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with research and greenhouse teams to obtain biological samples, reagents, and laboratory materials.
• Maintain laboratory resources, including inventory, equipment calibrations, safety compliance, and reagent management.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain equipment maintenance logs.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analytical methods, and laboratory worksheets.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support additional research and laboratory activities as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience with PCR molecular analysis techniques.
• Experience performing DNA extraction, sample preparation, and reagent preparation.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Strong laboratory documentation and record management skills.
• Ability to analyze scientific data and prepare technical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience supporting regulatory biosafety or regulatory science studies.
