The Food Service Assistant is responsible for ensuring safe and quality food service, providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and operating food service equipment.

• Comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
• Monitor and record proper food temperatures.
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items.
• Restock food areas.
• Clean and sanitize equipment.
• Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
• Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice‑cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators and freezers.
• Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and co‑workers.
• Establish effective working relationships and maintain quality control standards.
• Work independently when necessary and be on feet for the majority of the day, walking long distances as required.

• Minimum age 16.
• Previous customer service experience and retail counting & money reconciliation preferred.
• Knowledge of food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
• Flexibility to be on feet and walk long distances.
• On‑the‑job training provided.
• Must obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated timeframe, if required by location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required, depending on location.
