Position Overview
Maintenance Specialist I – Department of Administrative Services, State Building Division – Lincoln, NE.
Hiring Rate: $21.836.
Job Posting: JR.
Responsibilities- Perform skilled construction, installation, alteration, fabrication, maintenance and repair work in one or more building trades and/or equipment maintenance activities.
- Work individually or as part of a crew, exercising independent planning and organization of own work.
- Complete daily maintenance work orders, preventative work orders, groundskeeping and other duties within the classification scope.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade.
- Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations, or training may be substituted for education on a year‑for‑year basis as determined appropriate by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or diploma in one or more applicable maintenance trade(s).
- License(s) in one or more applicable maintenance fields.
- Special license for EPA applications or refrigerant.
Monday‑Friday 7:00am‑3:30pm, including rotating on‑call work.
Other Requirements- Must possess a valid driver’s license or other reliable transportation.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and building maintenance equipment.
- Basic office and computer skills, including competency in email and building system applications.
- Able to operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with basic groundskeeping equipment.
