Job DescriptionThis position requires intensive case management for the highest‑risk youth. Duties include conducting screening and risk assessments, performing investigations for the Court, and completing intakes at the request of law enforcement. Intensive case management includes facilitating groups, utilizing the science of brain development as a foundation, skill training, high‑level engagement with families, schools, and service providers. Service matching aligned with key life areas is essential, along with monitoring court conditions and doing transition planning for those placed out of home.
Non‑traditional hours and being “on‑call” are expected.
Location:
In‑office only. Travel may be required at times.
Work schedule:
Core Monday–Friday daytime. Occasional on‑call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Starting Salary: $60,313.77 annually (Hiring Rate). 2.5% pay increase after successful completion of the probation period unless starting above the Minimum Permanent rate. Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments apply on July
1.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in social services, criminal justice, or a directly related field. - Experience:
2years of case management in related fields. - Combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties may be considered.
- Experience working with youth or families through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or similar roles.
- Experience with Probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems, and skills in interviewing, investigation, or case management.
- All educational credits must be from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

- Making home visits.
- Interviewing probationers.
- Tracking probationers’ location(s).
- Using probation and protective techniques.
- Applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Preparing activity reports and updating databases.
- Operating computers and applicable software applications.
- Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, and others.
Incumbents may be subjected to environmental threats, odors, dust, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and travel. Light work:
