We are partnering with a PE Backed $800mm distribution organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys hands-on accounting and wants broad exposure across the organization.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the monthly close, financial reporting, annual budgeting and financial analysis while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Responsibilities- Support the monthly financial close, including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statement review
- Handle accounting and reconciliations related to cash/bank accounts, fixed assets, leases/ASC 842, payroll, debt and accrued expenses
- Review expense classifications and maintain accurate supporting schedules
- Independently manage cross-functional accounting projects from initial scoping through execution and documentation
- Support annual audits and respond to auditor requests
- Assist with acquisition accounting, including opening balance sheets, purchase price allocation support, integration of acquired company financials and post-close true-ups
- Maintain financial controls and accounting guidelines
- Support Accounts Payable during the monthly close
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings
- Assist with short- and long-term operational initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- CPA required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- This position offers an opportunity to take on a broad accounting role with exposure beyond the traditional close process, including acquisition accounting, technical accounting areas and cross‑functional projects.
Full-time, WFH on Fridays
The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
