The Moorestown Library seeks an enthusiastic individual to provide excellent customer service in the position of Library Assistant.

DESCRIPTION: This is a part-time, 7-20 hour per week position including Saturdays 10:30 am-2:30 pm, Sundays 9 am-5 pm with potential additional hours on Wednesdays 12‑4 pm and Fridays 12‑5 pm.

EXPECTED

START DATE:

August 1

• Answers phone and routes calls accordingly.
• Welcomes patrons entering the library.
• Registers new patrons, updates cards, and renews expired library cards.
• Checks material in/out.
• Assists patrons with information requests and/or finding material.
• Fields reference & assistance questions to appropriate staff.
• Handles basic math calculations with precision; collects donations and fees.
• Shelves returned materials.
• Manages item requests/holds.

• Prior library experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Customer-focused: warm, friendly, helpful, courteous, and energetic with a positive attitude.
• Able to lift books, stand, shelve on low and high shelves.

$18 per hour plus sick and vacation pay and enrollment in retirement program.
