  • Review project specifications, interface with clients, and support the development of scope‑of‑work documentation (experience with URS, FDS, and DDS in pharmaceutical environments is a plus).
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Oversee PLC, HMI, SCADA, and Historian system design and implementation using structured, well‑documented methodologies.
  • Provide technical escalation support during FAT, SAT, startup, and commissioning activities (occasional overnight travel required).
Team & People Management

  • Assign resources to projects based on skillsets, workload, and business priorities.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support career development.
  • Promote best practices in engineering standards, documentation, and coding methodologies.
  • Oversee development of engineering deliverables including BOMs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and I/O drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards including NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70/79, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal panel fabrication teams, field electricians, and contractors to ensure seamless execution from design through installation.
Project Execution & Commercial Support
  • Manage technical scope, schedules, and budgets across projects, supporting cost control and change management.
  • Partner with project management to track progress, manage risks, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Support preparation and review of technical documentation, validation test plans, and standard operating procedures for regulated environments.
  • Provide ongoing troubleshooting support, system upgrades, and optimization recommendations as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in control systems design and integration, with at least 2-3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Strong proficiency with major automation platforms, particularly Rockwell Automation (Control Logix, Compact Logix, Factory Talk View, Factory Talk Historian), Wonderware/AVEVA, and Ignition.
  • Experience with industrial communication networks including Ethernet/IP, Modbus/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, and OPC‑UA.
  • Familiarity with robotics, motion control, and instrumentation (VFDs, servos, sensors, pneumatics) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to review, create, and guide modifications to electrical schematics, panel layouts, and process instrumentation diagrams.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards including NEC, NFPA 70E, UL508A, NFPA 79, and ISA guidelines.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, chemicals, or plastics is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage teams and engage directly with clients.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Medical and dental insurance with employee cost‑sharing.
  • Company‑paid vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • 401(k) plan, FSA/HSA options, and generous vacation and paid time off.
  • Supportive, family‑oriented work environment where individual contributions are valued.
  • Opportunity to lead teams within an organization that combines systems integration, UL panel fabrication, and licensed electrical contracting-designing, programming, building, and installing complete automation solutions across multiple states.
