• 7+ years installing Equipment Cabinets, troubleshooting, and overseeing any hardware installations on either USCG Cutters or Navy Ships.
• 7+ years’ experience in designing, reviewing, and participating in internal and external copper and MILSPEC fiber optic cabling environments.
• 5+ years’ experience working within a Combat Systems / C4
ISR shipboard Environments and integrating shipboard electronic cabinets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
C2 System Hardware Integration and Installation
Design, review, and implement cabinet integrations for USCG labs, assets, and facilities.
Draft, redline, and modify hardware installation procedures during testing and implementation.
Provide engineering support for system components, subassemblies, and hardware cabinets.
Design and update engineering drawings using existing references or on-hand materials.
Support Technical Program Managers with new USCG system projects.
Design, review, and implement internal and external copper and fiber optic cabling, following Mil-Spec standards.
Analyze grounding and bonding of system components in compliance with TEMPEST and military specifications; recommend corrections.
Support hardware engineering and installation across USCG locations.
Assist in system light-off, checkout, and investigation activities in diverse operational environments. Engineering Documentation & Sustainment Support
Maintain and update hardware reference drawings for CGSAIL and USCG assets.
Provide technical recommendations for system integration and hardware installation.
Review engineering documentation for hardware changes to current and future system baselines.
Lead resolution efforts for hardware-related issues in laboratory and operational settings.
Assist lab teams with organizing, inventorying, and maintaining lab parts, tools, and equipment.
Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and installation teams to ensure hardware aligns with approved baselines. Required Knowledge & Skills
C4
ISR systems integration, sustainment, and support.
Cabinet integration and hardware installation practices.
Mil-Spec copper and fiber optic cabling standards and workmanship requirements.
Grounding and bonding practices, including TEMPEST compliance.
Reading, interpreting, and updating engineering drawings and hardware documentation.
Hands-on proficiency with hand and power tools.
Strong organizational, task management, and prioritization skills in high-tempo and travel-intensive environments.
Ability to collaborate in teams and work independently under time constraints.
Education & Experience Requirements
Mandatory:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience integrating military electronics systems.
Experience with Mil-Spec copper/fiber optic cables and shipboard electronics cabinets.
Willingness to travel up to 30% CONUS/OCONUS. Preferred:
Prior experience with USCG or Navy shipboard C2/C4
ISR systems.
Experience with Sea Commander System.
Experience supporting system integration or operational testing.
Experience developing or reviewing engineering documentation and technical drawings.
