Responsibilities- Lead structural engineering scope from conceptual design through IFC packages, fabrication support, and field issue resolution.
- Develop structural calculations for steel and concrete systems including pipe racks, equipment support frames, turbine foundations, elevated platforms, blast‑resistant structures, and modular skids.
- Perform advanced analysis using STAAD and other FEA platforms for static, dynamic, seismic, and wind loading in accordance with ASCE and project‑specific criteria.
- Design in accordance with AISC Steel Construction Manual, ASCE 7, AWS D1.1, and applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces with mechanical, process, piping, and electrical teams to resolve load paths, anchor bolt design, embed plates, and equipment interface conditions.
- Review fabrication drawings for compliance with design intent, welding procedures, and tolerances.
- Provide technical oversight for welding standards, WPS/PQR documentation, bolted connections, and NDT requirements (UT, MT, PT, RT as applicable).
- Support construction administration including RFI responses, field modifications, site walks, and structural inspections.
- Contribute to development of internal engineering standards, design templates, calculation methodologies, and QA/QC protocols.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience in industrial or mission‑critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience within EPC firms or OEMs supporting power generation, LNG, downstream petroleum, industrial gas, or nuclear energy infrastructure.
- Advanced proficiency in ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, and STAAD Pro is desired.
- Strong command of AISC, ASCE, AWS, IBC, and related national design codes.
- Working knowledge of fabrication practices, shop drawing review, welding standards, and non‑destructive examination methods.
- Experience with modularization, heavy equipment foundations, dynamic loading, and constructability considerations preferred.
