Senior Structural Analyst – Launchers Engineering Team
Lockheed Martin’s Moorestown, New Jersey facility is hiring a Senior Structural Analyst to design, analyze, and validate advanced launcher systems for naval and defense applications. The role focuses on ensuring structural integrity and performance under extreme operational environments.
Responsibilities- Perform structural, shock, vibration, and nonlinear dynamic analyses on launcher systems.
- Conduct finite element and classical stress analysis on component, subassembly, and integrated systems.
- Support design development through part sizing, fatigue/fracture assessments, and trade studies.
- Analyze composite and metallic materials used in launcher structures.
- Support system- and component-level testing, including test planning and correlation with analytical models.
- Develop and present stress, structural, and fracture analysis reports.
- Investigate hardware discrepancies during fabrication, assembly, and integration.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve technical issues.
- Assist in developing test concepts, instrumentation layouts, and data acquisition plans.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with 5 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Professional engineering experience in structural analysis.
- Experience with ANSYS and FEMAP/NASTRAN or other structural analysis models and solvers.
- Understanding of loads and dynamics analysis.
- Knowledge of static, vibration, acoustic, modal, or shock analysis/test.
- Proven collaboration with adjacent disciplines.
- Working knowledge of structural dynamic methods or testing.
- Experience designing and reviewing CAD models in CREO.
- Experience with missile and launch systems for DoD customers.
- Performing static and dynamic analyses including inertial, pressure, vibration, and shock loading.
- Defining and supporting static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing and model correlation.
- Supporting hardware development and production environments.
- Familiarity with Military Standards related to DoD, U.S. Navy, or launcher development.
- Presenting analysis findings to stakeholders.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Proficiency with MATLAB or equivalent for analysis and data manipulation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Moorestown, New Jersey. Requires ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
