The Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) program develops and field‑tests advanced shipboard radar systems. The role involves onsite activities covering hardware and software integration, testing, verification, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of an advanced radar system.
What You Will Do- Support 2nd and 3rd shift work periods, including extended hours and occasional travel up to multiple months.
- Support radar operations, integration, and testing.
- Document issues and support system troubleshooting for software and hardware.
- Interface with Technical SMEs to resolve issues and troubleshoot.
- Support hardware and software installations and activations (builds/overlays).
- Support data transfers and archiving to and from the classified network.
- Generate and maintain reports, logs, and other documentation.
- Support all other site activities as instructed by the Site and Integration Lead.
- Operate and maintain site‑specific instruments and test equipment for system operations.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with no required experience).
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Experience with Red Hat X86 servers, IT networking, Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting system issues.
- Familiarity with drawings, schematics, diagrams, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Preferred:
Experience with radar system operations, maintenance, and performance analysis. - Preferred:
Experience using MATLAB. - Preferred:
Operation and maintenance of the SPY‑6(V)1 radar system, including configuration. - Preferred:
System‑level testing of the SPY‑6(V)1 with the BL10 Aegis Weapon System. - Preferred:
Shipyard and/or shipboard experience and ability to interface with Navy personnel, contractors, and other government stakeholders. - Preferred:
Ability to support shipboard testing at sea.
Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 per year.
