WHAT WE'RE DOING
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Accelerated Materials & Product Development (AMPD) engineering department and laboratory. In this role you will design, analyze, and test a variety of structures and systems to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards. THE WORK
- Lay out conceptual designs early in the design phase and support proposal efforts
- Lead mechanical design throughout the execution phase on multiple projects
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to evaluate material and component structural and thermal data applying it to the design
- Interpret design specifications, codes, and standards to ensure project compliance
- Collaborate with project teams to verify design intent and resolve issues promptly
- Provide technical support during fabrication and validation phases of the engineering cycle

WHO YOU ARE
Proficiency in CREO Parametric or similar 3D CAAD software tools - Windchill, EPDM
Understanding of and able to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Self-starter and independent worker
Experience with launcher and missile canister development
Experience working programs in dynamic environments such as space or undersea applications
Comfortable working on a dynamic, fast paced team under demanding schedules
Experience designing and manufacturing composite products
