The WorkThe Radar Control and Signal Processing organization is seeking a hardworking and energetic cross-discipline associate manager to support the Scalable, Supportable, Software-Defined, S‑Band Radar (S4R) Radar Signal Processor (RSP) Products design, development, test, and maintenance of our products. These products support real‑time control and signal processing for our S4R radar systems. The selected candidate will serve as First Level Manager (FLM) for a team of about 15 system and software engineers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Functional Manager managing an RMS Engineering and Technology (E&T) organization supporting the programs within the IWSS Sensors/Effectors Integrated Engineering organization.
- Responsible for ensuring that appropriate engineering processes, technical personnel, and design tools are applied and managed.
- Staffing responsibilities include the projection and planning of appropriate staffing levels, recruiting and selection of interns, contractors, college hires and experienced professionals.
- Oversaw a highly skilled set of engineers in E&T.
- Responsible for program execution, driving technical and organizational strategy, instilling and maintaining engineering discipline, and enhancing employee experiences while focusing on functional management excellence.
- Facilitates and ensures technical vitality of functional team to meet current and strategic requirements.
- Fosters career development and employee growth as technical contributors, program leads, functional leaders, and future business leaders.
- Establishes and implements organizational training and development plans.
- Fosters employee feedback, recognition, and engagement.
- Proactively communicates with all constituents.
- Ensures flow‑down of tactical information and strategic vision.
- Implements hiring, recruiting, and retention initiatives to meet near and long‑term business needs.
- Guides resolution of technical issues across programs within technical discipline.
- Provides technical leadership and oversight of Systems Engineering program performance.
- Ensures cost, schedule and technical commitments are met for all programs and products.
- Ensures appropriate Basis of Estimates are applied, risks and opportunities identified, and approves cost estimates.
- Deploys engineering subject matter experts, best practices, and reuse of product, component, and infrastructure across RMS.
- Provides technology linkage and knowledge sharing across line of business.
- Manages staffing and resource allocation across programs to meet technical, cost and schedule.
- Supports Systems/Software Engineering strategy development and implements continuous improvements.
- Process, tools, common products, infrastructure, and services and drives a Digital Data Environment wherever possible across our centers.
- Drive to ensure we are keeping pace with emerging technologies with current and future staff while supporting our IRAD and Functional Projects.
- BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or STEM/Technical discipline.
- Experience with System and/or Software Engineering including flow down of system requirements, interaction of system and subsystem requirements, subsystem integration and system test, and system and software engineering processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives.
- Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD Security clearance at the SECRET level.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) / Control Account Management (CAM).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience implementing Digital Transformation Initiatives (Dev Sec Ops Environments, CI/CD Pipelines, Agile Development Practices, etc).
- Expertise in Radar, Electronic Warfare, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Parallel Processing, and/or Secure Processing.
Security Clearance Level: Secret. This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
