Mechanical Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Moorestown, New Jersey for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support the design, analysis, verification, and production of mechanical structures, enclosures, and electronic modules for complex defense systems. The engineer will work closely with systems, electrical, drafting, manufacturing, and test teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Skills
  • Bachelor's degree with 9–15 years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 7–13 years of relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of hands-on CREO experience for mechanical modeling and detailed design.
  • 3+ years of ANSYS experience performing thermal and structural analysis.
  • Experience designing mechanical structures, enclosures, electronic modules, or similar hardware.
  • Experience developing detailed mechanical designs and assembly strategies.
  • Experience supporting mechanical analysis and design verification.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into producible mechanical designs.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to support technical data packages, engineering documentation, and design reviews.
What You'll Do
  • Design mechanical structures, enclosures, electronic modules, and related hardware.
  • Develop detailed 3D mechanical models using CREO.
  • Perform thermal and structural analyses using ANSYS.
  • Support design verification and requirements-validation activities.
  • Develop and evaluate mechanical assembly strategies.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, electrical engineers, drafting personnel, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support integration and testing of mechanical hardware.
  • Prepare and maintain technical data packages and engineering documentation.
  • Participate in preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Support supplier technical activities and resolve mechanical design or manufacturing issues.
  • Provide production support for released designs.
  • Support laboratory and test-facility activities as required.
  • Evaluate test results and incorporate findings into design improvements.

Pay: $80.00–$115.00 per hour.
