Inspirit as Memory Care Engagement Coordinator (Project Management)
The Inspirit as Memory Care Engagement Coordinator serves as a knowledgeable and creative resource to the community regarding the needs of residents with dementia and related disorders. This role performs duties with an upbeat, helpful attitude and timely execution to ensure no interruption to planned activities or events. The Coordinator maintains necessary records for compliance and reporting as directed by the Executive Director, Regional/VP of Inspirit as Engagement.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and ensure a varied and innovative Life Enrichment program to enhance residents emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual well-being, as outlined in the Inspirit as program manual and directed by the Executive Director.
- Coordinate the scheduling and activity assignments of designated Life Enrichment Assistants (LEA) for successful delivery of the Inspirit as program.
- Determine necessary supplies for all activities, ERA (Exploration/Reminiscence Area) s, etc.
- Plan Inspirit as activities and events in accordance with a monthly budget.
- Seek direction and advice from the ED or Regional Director of Inspirit as to ensure best practices are in place.
- Advocate for Resident Rights at all times.
- Assist with orientation and recommended training of all Inspirit as staff related to Life Enrichment and dementia.
- Certified Dementia Practitioner (Preferred).
- Recreational Therapist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist background (Preferred).
- Occupational Therapist.
- Memory Care, Education, and/or Social Work experience 2 years.
- Interest or experience in psychology, sociology, social work, gerontology, and neurocognitive disorders.
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of dementia and related disorders and competency in customer service delivery to residents.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow instructions and directions, and interact with residents of varying backgrounds and abilities; remain cheerful and calm under stressful situations and work as a team member.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must have a safe driving record. A copy of the Division of Motor Vehicle Driving Record must be given to the Executive Director upon hire.
