Position: x2 Snr Windows/Linux System Admins with Security Clearance
Contract/Project:
SSi is providing engineering and technical support to Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic for the USCG Integrated Product Team (IPT). This support primarily includes the engineering, integration, and technical services required to outfit Coast Guard cutters with C5I systems. Additionally, support includes integration and technical support for standalone shipboard systems. Scope of work includes program, engineering, technical, drafting, training, logistics, procurement, intelligence, and operations support services for designated C5I systems onboard National Security Cutter (NSC), Polar Security Cutter (PSC), Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), Fast Response Cutter (FRC), Medium Endurance Cutters (WMEC), and other afloat, mobile and shore platforms.

Top 3 Skill Sets:

• 7+ years supporting Windows & Linux Technical Environments with installation and debugging of the applications for the AEGIS Weapon System and GCCS-J COOP System.

• 7+ years’ experience supporting multiple operating environments, to include Linux, Linux Containers, Windows, and VMware, to support system development and deployment.
• 5+ years’ experience working within a Combat Systems / C4

ISR shipboard Environment. Essential Duties &

Job Functions:

The Windows / Linux System Admin will support the Chugach Technical Program Manager and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) team by providing expertise in Command and Control (C2) and C4

ISR systems. The selected persons will provide day-to-day engineering support to NIWC. Support includes Software Installation and Fleet-wide assistance. The position requires an experienced Specialist to support the project. Travel up 30% CONUS/OCONUS. Essential Duties &

Job Functions:

USCG C2 Software Integration and Sustainment Support

• Works in collaboration with government, engineering, and operational stakeholders to design, integrate, test, and sustain USCG Command and Control (C2) and C4

ISR systems.

• Provides technical engineering support across the system lifecycle, including software development, integration, and testing of prototype and fielded systems.

• Provide engineering support for installation, configuration, and integration efforts aboard USCG assets and sites.

• Develops, executes, and supports Onsite Configuration Requests (OCRs) for USCG C2 systems.

• Maintains laboratory and deployed asset software configurations, ensuring alignment with approved baselines.

• Evaluates new software solutions, operating environments, and technologies, and determines potential impacts to existing USCG systems.

• Applies working knowledge of multiple operating environments, including Linux, Linux Containers, Windows, and VMware, to support system development and deployment.

• Provides issue resolution for USCG C4

ISR Systems

• Provides remote and fly-away technical support to USCG assets as mission requirements dictate.

• Applies analytical and problem-solving skills to assess system performance, analyze test data, and resolve technical deficiencies.

• Supports cybersecurity compliance efforts by applying knowledge of cybersecurity tools, technologies, and processes such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, ACAS/Nessus, and RMF (as applicable). USCG C2 Software Configuration Management and Documentation

• Responsible for maintaining, reviewing, and updating technical documentation
• Ensures software installation instructions are current for all builds and provide clear technical feedback to internal and external stakeholders.

• Develops and maintains software guides, technical workarounds, and sustainment documentation for C4

ISR systems.

• Creates and reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other technical documentation, providing detailed technical assessments and recommendations.

• Conducts specification and requirements reviews to ensure system changes meet objectives.

• Ensure engineering tasks are properly prioritized and executed with a strong sense of urgency, demonstrating effective organizational and task-management skills.
