Cloud Operations Engineer

e&e is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer for an onsite contract opportunity in Moorestown, New Jersey!

Seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies, who can also collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. The individual will play a key role in maintaining an onsite virtualization environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Dev Ops.
• Hands‑on experience with Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose in production environments.
• Strong experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Experience with version control systems, including Git.
• Experience working with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), such as Eclipse.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable participating in team planning sessions and stakeholder meetings.
• Familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.

• Manage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale applications running on Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to plan, deploy, and maintain services.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks.

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Podman in rootless environments.
• Operating within IL5/IL6 compliance environments.
• Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• High-availability or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC
  2).

• 5–7+ years of related professional experience.
