SummaryThe SVP of Product Management is a key executive role responsible for providing strong leadership and strategic vision, strategy, and execution for their Product Area. The individual in this role ensures that their Product Area and Teams create, develop, and manage products that contribute to the success of the business with measurable impact. The individual in this role will have an extensive track record leading teams to partner with Product, Technical, and Business Stakeholders to collaboratively launch successful products.
This role requires expertise in Leadership, Product Management, Business Strategy, Technology, Agile Principles, and Market dynamics. This individual will identify process and training opportunities within their Product Area to ensure team members are able to effectively take a Product through its lifecycle for example, creating a compelling product vision, strategy, and go to market plan. The SVP of Product Management will drive innovation, efficiency, and improve the overall customer and team member experience positioning the company ahead of competitors in their Product domain.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides visionary leadership to their Product Area, Technology Teams, and Dependent Teams;
Acting as an Executive Leader for the whole team. - Collaborates with other C-level and Senior Executives to ensure the Product vision and strategy aligns with business strategy and objectives and positions their Products ahead of competitors and the market.
- Leads a high-performing Product Area and Teams including Leaders, Product Managers, and/or Product Owners who create, develop, and manage the vision, strategy, and roadmap for product(s) addressing strategic business goals, customer feedback, competitors, and the market.
- Determines staffing, recruiting, and hiring to ensure a high-performing Product Management Area.
- Develops and communicates a comprehensive point of view on industry trends, the broader market, and competitive landscape.
- Fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Product Area and team(s).
- Coaches their Product Area to ensure successful product lifecycle phases, communication and execution plans as well as high-quality artifacts and measuring of outcomes.
- Is accountable for the overall go to market plan, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and partner/ecosystem strategies.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify interdependencies amongst products and strategic initiatives across the organization; proactively ensures their Product Area has knowledge of interdependencies.
- Is responsible for the collaborative creation and development of Product processes, templates, and trainings ensuring clarity from idea to implementation.
- Ensures team members and leaders conduct impactful market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback sessions to inform product decisions and optimization.
- Ensures roadblocks are removed for the cross-functional Product, UX, Engineering, and QA team; assists and supports where necessary as a point of escalation and a leader for the whole team.
- Ensures proper visibility and methods to measure and monitor Product performance by clearly defining, tracking, and reporting on success metrics.
- Engages with customers, partners, and industry thought leaders to gather insights, build relationships, and promote their products.
- Provides stakeholders with timely updates.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities- This position has direct reports. Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Must have excellent leadership skills leading through inspiration, motivation, clear expectations, trust, approachability, delegation, and relationship building.
- Must have extensive expertise leading Senior Leaders and providing coaching to improve their overall performance and effectiveness.
- Must have extensive track record of leading with influence and gaining alignment on vision and strategy.
