Production Supervisor, Floating

The production supervisors have a general responsibility to maintain efficient, high-quality production, including employee supervision, material coordination, proper reporting, safety and wellness, etc. He/she is a collaborative leader with a technical background and outstanding accomplishments in manufacturing and operations supervision. A team player, a good communicator and customer centric. Reports to the Production Manager. The production (shift) supervisor leads the shift operators and support personnel.

Base Salary: $70,000 annually

• A proven, collaborative leader with experience in manufacturing (industrial, B2B) and a strong customer mindset.
• The ideal supervisor will have manufacturing experience in the pressure sensitive adhesive (coating and converting) industry.
• A strong, decisive leader, relationship builder, able to encourage and hold team members accountable.

• Must be able to pass / meet the physical agility test and requirements as prescribed by ABI Tape.
• Must complete safety, coater, converting, and other prescribed training in order to do the function.
• Must be able to work in any shift in a 24-hour period on any day of the week (including weekend) and work overtime as required.

Specific requirements include:

• A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Associate’s, bachelor’s or equivalent degree is desired.
• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in plant / operations supervisory or lead position.
• Experienced in MS Windows based operating systems and MS Word and Excel programs.
• Superior management skills, ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports; peers and upper management.
• A team player with excellent people management skills: a motivating and decisive leader and a proven record of achieving excellence through people.
• Well organized, able to set ambitious yet realistic objectives, prioritize initiatives, and bring work to a successful conclusion.
• Energetic, flexible and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively impact the agreed operational initiatives.
• Good written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.
• Review daily general instructions from Production Manager, Plant Superintendent and/or Planning office.
• Check production schedules for coaters and assign operators. Assure adequate supplies to maintain schedules.

• Assign latex batch formulas to operators as required from scheduler and supervise batch making.
• Maintain and make efforts to adhere to the set levels of quality and productivity, including minimum waste.
• Review production reporting and data collection submitted for accuracy, correct/edit as needed.
• Ensure performance is reported accurately using production database.
• Ensure downtime is reported accurately using production database.
• Verify and approve timecards via ADP time and attendance system accurately and timely.
• Provide full daily and weekend backup for other supervisors.
• Work with a slight shift overlap to ensure continuity of shift transitions. Advise incoming shift supervisor of schedules, special instructions, and manning requirements.
