Responsible for the facilitation and coordination of safe and comprehensive care to all patients presenting to Moorestown/Oncology Multidisciplinary sites. This Oncology Nurse Coordinator is a professional care‑giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
Clinical application of the knowledge and skill in the following areas: pharmacology, principles and application of chemotherapy administration, side effects and appropriate nursing intervention, chemotherapy, liaison for patients/families receiving treatment. Leadership may be remote; requires ability of expanded problem‑solving, critical thinking and decision‑making at a supervisory level. Will have the unique opportunity to assist in the development and operations of the Cooper Moorestown Multidisciplinary site.
This model focuses on the acute/immediate care needs in the Moorestown and surrounding areas. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and clinical skills are required. Participates in cross training in other specialty areas.
- 1-3 years RN in Oncology setting preferred, ONS/ONCC preferred
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
- Current NJ‑RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current NJ‑BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Oncology Nurse Coordinator requires critical thinking to consider factors related to patient safety, effectiveness, and cost in delivering care.
- Effective resource utilization by the Nurse Coordinator requires coordination with the Clinical Director to plan or change course of action for improved continuity of care and outcomes.
- Requires expanded problem‑solving, critical thinking and decision‑making at a supervisory level, including excellent communication skills and the ability to delegate effectively and supervise the work of other team members.
