Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer
Overview
The Training & Simulation Group (TSG) designs and delivers cutting‑edge real‑time radar antenna simulators that power radar backend processing for lab testing and immersive training exercises. Our solutions run on high‑performance distributed computing platforms using C++, CUDA, and NVIDIA GPUs, enabling mission‑critical simulation fidelity for defense customers worldwide.
Responsibilities- Software Architecture & Design – Define and evolve the core C++/CUDA architecture for real‑time radar antenna simulation, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and deterministic performance on NVIDIA GPU clusters.
- Feature Development – Implement high‑performance simulation algorithms, signal processing pipelines, and device drivers to meet strict latency and accuracy requirements.
- CI/CD & Automation – Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines (Git Lab/Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) that enable rapid, reliable delivery of simulation software.
- Integration & Test Lab Support – Work closely with system engineers and test personnel to integrate new capabilities, troubleshoot issues, and validate performance in the lab environment.
- Collaboration – Partner with systems engineers, radar scientists, and program managers to translate mission requirements into robust software solutions.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals including software and systems engineers across the SPY‑7 Radar portfolio, supporting key programs such as LRDR, ASEV, RCD, and HDR‑GUAM.
Who You Are- Professional experience proactively understanding problems and constraints, identifying solutions, and implementing robust, efficient C++ or CUDA code.
- Strong advocate for test‑driven development and collaborative work environments.
- Comfortable decomposing features/stories into discrete tasks and communicating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to secure and hold a US Government security clearance at the SECRET level.
- Batchelor’s degree from accredited institution in a STEM field.
- 2-5 years professional experience with 2+ years of hands‑on C++ development in a real world, performance‑critical environment.
- Demonstrated experience participating in agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and decomposing features into actionable tasks.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and software design patterns.
- Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Lab CI, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops) and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with real‑time signal processing or radar simulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Linux/UNIX development environments and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for reproducible builds.
- Prior exposure to hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing or lab automation.
- Certifications in Agile/Scrum (CSM, PSPO) or Dev Ops.
- GPU Programming – Proficiency with CUDA and NVIDIA GPU architectures; ability to profile and optimize GPU kernels.
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
