Job Overview

Description: This hybrid telework opportunity allows a Staff Software Engineer to work at a Lockheed Martin–designated office or job site for part of the week and telework for the remainder. The role is based in Moorestown, New Jersey and reports to the Launchers & C‑UAS Engineering organization.

• Serve as the software lead for a prominent launcher program, overseeing deliverables for multiple software applications.
• Provide technical team leadership and manage earned value and control accounts.
• Conduct frequent customer interactions, quarterly in‑progress reviews, and risk and change management.
• Support software development activities as business conditions dictate.
• Apply software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, software configuration management, real‑time embedded development, and integration and testing.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least 9 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience or knowledge of SDLC.
• Demonstrated ability leading cross‑discipline engineering teams.
• Experience with earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management techniques.
• Experience with cost estimating/proposal development.
• Software engineering experience with C++ and Java, and familiarity with real‑time operating systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level.

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional written and oral communication; ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Proven success delivering complex, high‑risk programs on schedule and within cost constraints.
• Experience with military product development and customers, especially MK41 VLS.

This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level and U.S. citizenship.

Salary range (variable by state): $113,900 – $200,905. The final offer reflects scope, experience, and local market.

Hybrid telework: part of the schedule at a Lockheed Martin facility and part remotely. Specific weekly schedule discussed during hiring. Schedule for this position: four 10‑hour days with three days off per week.
