Substitute Teacher

Mooresville Christian Academy is a thriving, growing Christian school dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as substitute teachers. This role is essential in maintaining a positive, structured, and productive environment for students while following lesson plans and school procedures.

• Deliver instruction based on lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher or school staff.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies.
• Take attendance and monitor student participation throughout the day.
• Adapt to different grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings as needed.
• Communicate important classroom updates to the appropriate school personnel.
• Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work.
• Support school routines, transitions, and daily procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in education is preferred.
• Experience working with children or students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, adapt quickly, and remain calm under pressure.
• Professional demeanor and a commitment to student success.

• Flexible and dependable with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable working with diverse student populations.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment.

This position may involve working across multiple classrooms, grade levels, or subject areas depending on school needs. Assignments may be short-term or long-term, offering variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning. Compensation is $120 for full day and $60 for half day.
