Tax Associate

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and potential tax savings opportunities, providing detailed feedback to preparers.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete and properly supported prior to filing.
• Review and assist with responses to IRS notices and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
• Collaborate with tax preparers and team members to improve overall quality and efficiency of tax engagements.
• Maintain strong client relationships by communicating complex tax information clearly and professionally when needed.
• Provide guidance on tax software and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in tax preparation and/or tax review.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience reviewing individual and business tax returns preferred.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software and accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
