Your Impact

The Sr Analyst-Workers Compensation Claims will provide insight and support to drive the operational excellence of the Workers Compensation Program. Using knowledge of the industry, Lowe's operations, and analytical concepts, this role will lead the analysis of operational, financial and vendor performance while recommending innovative strategies or tactics to enhance the associate experience, mitigate risks and increase visibility into key drivers of performance.

To do this they must be able to analyze, report accurate results, identify meaningful insight, and communicate findings to support decision-making. They will lead the workers  compensation litigation program which requires them to collaborate with third-party vendors and Lowe s nationwide panel of attorneys to ensure the program delivers best-in-class outcomes. Additionally, this role will head up the training and communication platform, which entails working cross-functionally to understand critical gaps in processes, controls, or training opportunities.

To do this they will develop robust, easy-to-understand workflows, presentations, or documents to support to integrity of the programs. This requires someone who demonstrates effective communication with multiple internal and external business partners, has the ability to influence others and drives collaborative solutions.

What You Will Do
  • Evaluates monthly, quarterly, and annual performance of claims administrator and subcontracted vendors through analyses such as cost-benefit, feasibility, and trending analyses. Supports leadership by translating findings and providing actionable insights and recommendations for operational enhancement.

  • Analyzes industry benchmarks and drafts reports for use in evaluating comparative program performance

  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on Key Performance metrics and OKRs. May use data visualization tools to further illustrate key insights. Will communicate gaps, trends, or observations to leadership.

  • Assists in developing annual OKRs (including leading and lagging indicators) directly tied to claims initiatives or strategies.

  • Partnering with the claims administrator and Lowe’s Care Nurses (LCN), communicates operational drivers, root cause analyses, and impacts through collaborative quarterly stewardship.

  • Analyzes Return-to-Work performance against Workers  Compensation strategy and ODG best practice guidelines to ensure optimal outcomes and to identify gaps in the program. Works closely with LCNs, HR, Store Operations and claims administrator to close gaps and increase temporary transitional duty utilization. Will function as project lead on process flow design and analysis of the integrated RTW program.

  • Manages the Litigation Platform which includes evaluating defense counsel outcomes and providing recommendations to leadership on the basis of Litigation KPIs, defense costs, rate structures and financial impact.

  • Conducts ongoing litigation reviews, recommending strategies for optimal or early resolution.

  • Works cross-functionally to review and revise litigation management guidelines, and Request for Proposal Documents, and provides recommendations as necessary.

  • Leads litigation communication standards including the Defense Counsel summit, quarterly newsletter content, defense counsel chats, RFI/RFP communication, and Defense Panel Database

  • Leads development and maintenance of an electronic discovery platform. This includes coordinating discovery responses, and developing a SharePoint site to house materials, workflows, and enhanced contact support. This may also require the use of automation tools to enable more efficient access to materials.

  • Facilitates and maintains WC claims management training and communication platform. This requires working cross-functionally with internal and external business partners to understand the critical business needs and to develop/maintain perpetual training and communication documents.
