Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Mooresville, NC, for an experienced Construction Lumber Estimator. The role involves performing detailed lumber and siding take-offs for multi-family and commercial construction projects using Plan Swift software. Responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting complex commercial construction plans, building accurate bills of materials (BOMs) with appropriate waste factors, delivering clean, organized Excel spreadsheets for client‑ready estimates, and managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and QA standards.
As part of our team, you’ll work on projects that span hundreds of thousands of square feet and involve millions of dollars in materials, making accuracy and attention to detail critical for this role. Clear communication with project stakeholders will be required to ensure successful project outcomes.
This is not an entry-level position; we are looking for someone with proven blueprint-reading and on-screen estimating expertise who can contribute immediately on large, complex wood-framed projects.
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating or framing (multi-family/commercial preferred)
- Proficiency with on-screen estimating software (Plan Swift strongly preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of accuracy, dependability, and attention to detail
- Field experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
