Your ImpactThe Director, Industrial Engineering will be responsible for establishing and driving implementation of automation, robotics, and technology solutions to drive Lowe’s Supply Chain Transformation. This role is critical to Lowe’s as it is responsible for creating innovative, transformative engineered solutions to support all aspects of a multi-node Distribution Center network. This leader should have an excellent engineering foundation and a track record of successfully leading and integrating large-scale automation and robotics technology implementations.
The Director will partner with various technical and business functions across the enterprise, growing, influencing, and managing high-visibility key relationships. The Director should also have strong managerial experience to lead, develop, and oversee a team of Field, Senior, and Principal Engineers, as well as attract and recruit top engineering talent.
- Oversee a multi-million-dollar, comprehensive and complex automation, robotics, technology, and process improvement portfolio of projects for the enterprise supporting critical business strategies within Lowes Supply Chain.
- Explore future automation, robotics, and technology needs by showcasing thought leadership and innovation, benchmarking industry trends, and internal customer and associate facing solution needs.
- Develop and maintain 3-year strategic roadmaps for automation and robotics technologies.
- Define the short- and long-term vision and strategies for the portfolio through gathering requirements, building business cases, and solving implementation challenges in both new and established environments.
- Participate in defining and negotiating supplier contracts and scopes of work.
- Advise senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization on strategic plans and improvements to execute the business vision and strategic plan.
- Enhance efficiencies and best practices; and drive end-to-end one best way for Distribution Center Operations.
- Lead and manage a team of 8-10 Field, Senior, and Principal level engineers who execute implementation of all projects in the portfolio.
- Mentor and coach leaders & individual contributors reporting to this position and play an active role in talent development and building bench strength.
- Cultivate partnership and collaboration with various cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field and 10 years of experience in industrial engineering and supply chain operations
- 10 years' experience with an in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise developing and implementing automation and robotics solutions.
- 10 years of combined experience in Engineering and multiple Supply Chain disciplines (ie Operations, Finance, Transportation).
- 10 years demonstrated experience in driving new ideas, adapting, and integrating new technology, robotics, and automation in a complex supply chain environment.
- 10 years of a proven track record managing multi-million-dollar project portfolios.
- 10 years’ experience managing, growing, and influencing high-visibility key relationships with core customers, stakeholders, and leadership at all levels of the organization.
- 10 years’ experience navigating material handling supplier contracts and negotiations.
- 3 years’ experience showing a strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
- 3 years’ experience showing an acute business and financial acumen.
- 3 years’ experience demonstrating people leadership managing, leading, and developing teams.
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 7 years of experience in engineering and supply chain operations
