We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute - Mooresville team. This role plays an essential part in supporting our providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient clinical operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do- Prepare patients for cardiac and vascular appointments by obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical histories.
- Clinical Support and Testing.
- Keep patients informed about their visit, testing processes, and next steps for care.
- Embody the Novant Health human experience by delivering kindness, empathy, and professionalism in every encounter.
- Partner closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses, and sonographers to deliver coordinated care.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required. - Experience:
Previous work in a medical office, preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
Current certification as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Candidate will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA); RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT);
American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA);
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT);
National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP);
American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. - Additional skills required:
Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
