REPORTS TO: Supervisor
Responsible for the upkeep of the assigned machines and equipment. The Production Technician may also provide shift coverage for an absent Technical Leader by coordinating the activities of team members in the assigned area (as it relates to process flow), which facilitates the safe and efficient production of products that meet the required specifications & quality standards. The Production Technician also communicates with area management regarding maintenance, safety and production process related matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists maintenance & engineering with projects & routine repairs as needed
- Repairs and maintains the equipment in the assigned areas
- Maintains sufficient inventories of supplies, tooling, etc., as required in the assigned area
- Communicates safety discrepancies or issues to the Supervisor
- Communicates abnormalities with all Technical Leader regarding: daily checks, maintenance issues, and calibration status of equipment
- May input maintenance work orders and order supplies and materials through Solar Soft information system
- Performs lock out/tag out procedures when maintaining or cleaning equipment
- Assists Team Members and Technical Leader with their daily activities
- Reviews internal email and calendar system several times per shift
- Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Global 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities as needed
- Follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including the disposal of waste and used materials
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities and no direct reports.
Skills:
Acquiring and applying functional knowledge in one's own area of specialty (not technical e.g., Finance, HR Management); acquiring and applying technical and functional knowledge in one's own technological area of specialty; using a personal computer and related applications to convey and retrieve information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 3-6 months related experience and/or training.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
Skills:
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
